Welcome to Night Owl Design Co. — a tiny-but-mighty art studio fueled by late nights, real stories, and the belief that creativity can change everything.

I’m Christine — single mom, musician, designer, and former hotel GM where I spent the last decade doing a million jobs, wearing all the hats, and pouring all my energy into someone else’s dream. I started thinking:

What if I put even an ounce of that energy into something of my own? What would that look like — the answer? Universe — Show me how good it can get!

I couldn’t ignore it anymore. I had to face my fear and trust that "Everything goes my way". (I say that to myself daily) I finally released my attachment outcome, quit my job, and bet on myself.
Night Owl Design Co. was born.

Who We Are

This is a family affair — a creative, chaotic, heart-driven project I share with my two kids. Yes, we all have ADHD. It’s basically a superpower. Together we’re building a business, learning the ropes of commerce and creativity, and making space for stories (and styles) that don’t always fit in the box.

We live on Vashon Island, Washington — where we sketch, print, dream, and laugh way too late at night. You should see our fridge! Our designs are happy, human and made with JOY. Some are funny. Some are healing. Some are just weird. That’s the point.

What We Make

  • Original hat collections, digital prints, all manner of things yet to come and future collabs
  • Custom design work for fellow dreamers, doers, and small biz owners including but not limited to—logos, branding, web design, templates, posters and marketing
  • Products that make people laugh, feel seen — or both

Everything we do is rooted in the idea that creativity can be a way through — and a way out.

Why We Do It

Night Owl Design Co. isn’t just about selling stuff. It’s about:

  • Teaching my kids to be brave and showing them what building something of your own looks like
  • Claiming space as a woman, an adoptee, and a creative raised in the foster system
  • Supporting community by being real, showing up, and giving back
  • Creating things that make people feel good or less alone

This is about freedom — financial, emotional, creative.

I’m Christine Patterson. After 10 years of running someone else’s business, I decided to build one of my own. I’m here to work smart, create boldly, and never again dim myself down for the comfort of a job title.

My kids are my why — and my creative collaborators. You’ll see their fingerprints in our designs, ideas, and even the product names.

We’re proof that starting over isn’t failure — it’s choosing yourself.
